On febuary 14, we suffered a great loss of our 2006 Calgary Stampede Princess, and dear friend, Teri Murray. She lost control of her car on her way back to Calgary from visiting friends in Banff. Her life was honoured at Rafter Six Ranch and the church was packed with upwards of 350 people. She was young, but lived her life to the fullest and as the numbers proved, touched hearts everywhere as she achieved her dreams in the highest standards - from the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, her involvement in community volunteering, wrangling at the Tim Hortons Childrens Camp, and her latest adventure, the International Program at the YMCA of Honolulu. People came from all over the country, out of country, and out of continent to share fond memories of this special lady on her day.
Even though we were so close for many years, Teri and I met during my first try for the title of CS Princess. I may have lost the competition, but I made a great friend, amoung the best. We would always say to eachother “I am your biggest fan!” and I would often announce her royal presence with a grand entry when she would enter a room. Many fond memories are held dearly in my heart, as we shared our many passions in life. I inspire to be more like her, to really Live each day with Love, Laughter and Currage.
My love goes out to her family.
Thank you Teri, for the friendships you shared, the lives you’ve touched and the inspiration that continues to shine. Love you always.
