Pens of five market ready cattle will be judged and sold. Grand and Reserve Grand Champion pens of steers and heifers will be transported to Stampede Park and sold in the Big Top Tent in conjunction with the final round of the International Livestock Auctioneer Championships.

Going once, going twice...sold. Livestock auctioneers from around the world use their charm, savvy and skill to compete for the title of International Livestock Auctioneer Champion. Auctioneers are judged on such things as timing, rhythm, clarity, voice control, appearance and mannerisms.
BMO BANK OF MONTREAL FARM FAMILY AWARDS

The BMO Bank of Montreal Farm Family Awards recognize and honour outstanding southern Alberta farm families who best typify the value of the family farm to our rural communities and the farming industry. Municipal district offices throughout Southern Alberta nominate deserving families who are then invited to a day of celebration in their honour.
CUTTING HORSE SHOW

The grace and intelligence of the Cutting Horse are displayed during this fascinating event. Spectators marvel at the athletic ability and cow sense of these highly trained animals in the Open, Non-Pro and Youth competition events. The Champion Youth will receive the Bill Collins Youth Excellence Award, a $1,000 educational scholarship.
FORT HAVEN STABLES
Location: Agriculture Building
Several breeds of horses are displayed in the Agriculture Building in an old western fort setting. Go back in time to the Wild West when horses ruled. This historical display offers an equine learning experience. Colouring books will also be available for the kids. These light horse breeds can also be seen in action daily in demonstrations in the Big Top Tent or Pengrowth Saddledome.
LLAMA SHOWCASE
Location: Agriculture Building

Departing from the traditional show format, the 2007 Llama Showcase will present a celebration of the Llama. Hands on, live interaction with the animals, a fibre competition, and live spinning and packing demonstrations will highlight the Llamas versatility and potential as an alternative livestock.

One part of our Miniature Weekend, the Miniature Donkey Showcase, will feature this breed. You can learn about these little guys during demonstrations in the pavilion or come cheer on your favorites during the evening Team Challenges in the Big Top. The Red Team will race against the Blue Team for victory in Pole Bending, Barrel Racing and Stake Races. Come and see what a Miniature Donkey can do.

SHEEP SHEARING COMPETITION

The best professional sheep shearers from around the world come to Calgary. The best can shear four sheep in less than six minutes. The competition is keen and these sheep barbers display some exceptional skills. This year marks the 11th anniversary of the Super Shear. This year’s program again features a fashion show to be presented at the finals.

The richest Steer Show in Canada, the UFA Classic returns for the 22nd consecutive year. The Grand Champion Steer is awarded $10,000 in prize money. The show is an event where all aspects of the beef industry can promote and compete in everything from the merits of purebred genetics and animal health products to the current trends in carcass and consumer demands. The Market Heifer show is an added class to the Steer Show. Exhibitors will compete for $1,950 in prize money and the opportunity to compete in the Carcass Competition.
VINTAGE & ANTIQUE TRACTOR PULL

Come see the 18th Annual Vintage & Antique Tractor Pull featuring restored vintage tractors in an actual “Who Can Pull the Most Contest.” This competition features six different weight classes.

The International Youth Livestock Show is currently one of the largest and fastest growing youth agricultural competitions in Canada. The International Youth Livestock Committee provides competitors (9 – 20 years of age) with the groundwork they need to become future agricultural community leaders, through an international livestock competition. The competitors are encouraged to develop their agricultural skills through hands-on experience. This competition develops skills such as public speaking, livestock knowledge, industry knowledge, organization and competition. Visit the Youth competitors in the Stalling tent, located on the North end of the Agriculture Barn.
