The Promotion Committee consists of 140 volunteers who promote the western spirit and values of the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede at many events year round. Activities include greeting and ‘branding’ guests, appearances by Harry the Horse – the Stampede’s official mascot, games, and line-dancing. These ambassadors can also provide the Stampede Stages – which are traveling shows of western entertainment for all ages.

HARRY THE HORSE
Harry the Horse, the official mascot and ambassador of the Calgary Stampede, is a common sight in and around Calgary throughout the year and 10 days of Stampede. You will find him meeting, greeting and delighting children of all ages.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN VACATIONS
Teams of Promotion Committee volunteers and entertainers will board incoming Rocky Mountain Vacations’ trains at the Banff station to inform, entertain and welcome guests travelling to Calgary. Information about the Stampede, including the Daily Events Schedule and promotional items, will be distributed.
AIRPORT GREETINGS
From July 4 – 12, 2007, the colour and excitement of Calgary Stampede begins the moment passengers arrive at the Calgary International Airport arrivals gate. Promotion Committee volunteers welcome visitors to Calgary with a Stampede greeting/branding ceremony, an invitation to come to the Stampede, Daily Event Schedule information, and country music and entertainment.
CAMPGROUND VISITS
Promotion Committee volunteers will be visiting six campgrounds in the Calgary area from July 7 – 13 to welcome visitors to Calgary and to invite them to the Stampede. The “welcome” includes branding, western-style entertainment, information on the Stampede and city-related events and activities, distribution of promotional items and the Stampede Daily Events Schedule.
