L-40 Lynx Mountain – Saddle Bronc

Born 2001 - Daughter of T-10 Turtle Mountain and sired by Walleye Roan, who was one of the Calgary Stampede Ranch’s foundation studs in the 1990’s.

Lynx Mountain has qualified for the CFR and NFR many times over, and was chosen as the Canadian Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year in 2009. Cowboys love to draw Lynx Mountain because she consistently delivers top scores and a pay-cheque, but also has a very calm demeanor and disposition when waiting in the chutes for her performance. She is well-known for her signature move – she rears up in the chutes just as the gate opens, making for a very dramatic entrance followed by a strong ride.  Lynx Mountain is one of the main donor mares in the Calgary Stampede’s Born to Buck breeding system, often paired with six-time world champion Grated Coconut using recipient mares. The Stampede Ranch is looking to replicate their collective qualities for incredibly strong, consistent bucking abilities combined with a gentle, calm demeanor.
