Balloon Bash - Monday, July 7

Come experience a spectacular world of colorful balloons and fun. Colorful balloon arches and balloon columns designed by Balloon-a-grams will float above all Stampede Entrances. Balloon twisters at each entrance will create balloon animals, hats and characters for children. Enter for the chance to win a Grand Prize round-trip WestJet flight for four to any scheduled WestJet destination as well as Afternoon Rodeo and Evening Show tickets. The GetAway

Visit Hall A in the Big Four Building and Get Away! The GetAway offers interactive hockey activities and exhibits, fashion shows, model searches, high energy dance performances, video games and tournaments, and much more. You are sure to find something for the entire family in The GetAway.

The Stampede Oasis

Come join us at the Stampede’s newest indoor green space: The Stampede Oasis. Take a walk through the lush indoor park, or kick up your boots and relax on one of the many benches near our calming water feature. Park and water feature creation by Waterworks Ponds and Nature Indoors.

Family Fun Hours

Thanks to all who entered. The 2008 Family Fun Hours contest is now finished. Congratulations to the winner Joe Howe from Canmore, Alberta.

New Agriculture Exhibits and Tours

  • Portable Biodiesel Plant

    Explore this fascinating classroom on wheels providing hands-on learning of biodiesel production. This expedition from canola seed to biodiesel fuel is very interesting.

  • Farm Tours

    Experience Alberta’s diverse farming community on an official Stampede Farm Tour. As part of your visit to this year’s Calgary Stampede, spend a day seeing the landscape of Alberta through the eyes of local producers and entrepreneurs. Take this opportunity to gain a better understanding of today’s production techniques, technology and the value of the heart of agriculture in Alberta.

  • Beef Cattle Showcase

    The 2008 Beef Cattle Showcase is a live animal display of Alberta’s beef cattle breeds. Located in the main barn this showcase will also incorporate informative displays about the various breeds. With 39% of the Canadian beef herd located in Alberta, the beef industry not only contributes to the financial well-being of this province, but also plays a part in our daily healthy living.

New Western Lifestyles Exhibit

The People’s Choice award, The Art of the Western Fry Pan is a whimsical look at the Western Frypan. Eight or 10-inch frypans, decorated by the entrants are on display. Western Showcase visitors can vote for their favourite.

New Enbridge Stage Performers

  • Barrage

    Catch this exhilarating, energetic group of young, dancing fiddlers 3 times a day on the Enbridge stage. This Celtic sound is infectious, incorporating rock, country, calypso, jazz, and folk into one show-stopping package!

    The Master of Illusion This spellbinding magic show is mixed with comedy and is sure to be a crowd pleaser for audiences of all ages. Make sure to look for Sean and his jaw dropping tricks on the midway throughout the day as well as on the Enbridge Stage each evening.

  • The Comedy and Magic of Paul Isaak

    Combining dangerous juggling, weird stunts, and audience participation, Calgary native Paul Isaak delivers a high energy, hilarious show that will have you howling with laughter!

  • The USA Break Dancers

    This unforgettable show is packed with acrobatic stunts, hilarious antics, and all the hottest dance moves. These guys combine their comedic talents with cutting edge dance choreography that will leave you cheering for more!

Located immediately outside the Olympic and Erlton gates, the Bike Corral's have an unlimited capacity of bikes due to the expandable design for people who chose to bike to stampede.
