Visiting Bands
Does a trombone Dixie spike your heartrate? Does a snare-drum’s report have you marching in lockstep? Throughout Stampede, you’re likely to catch any one of a number of local, national and international marching bands, drum corps, and show bands perform at venues all over the city, in the Stampede Parade and of course on the Park.
Marching Bands at the Stampede Parade
In 2010, the Stampede Parade featured more than 20 marching bands. They came from all over Calgary, Western Canada, and the world; more than 1,600 musicians and colour guards in all, to not only perform, but compete for $20,000 in prize money!
