Deric Ruttan

9:00pm - 10:30pm at Nashville North
in the Nashville North Zone

Deric Ruttan's debut CD yielded five Top Ten singles (including the hits, "When You Come Around", "Shine" and "Take The Wheel") and earned him a "Best Album" nomination at the 2004 Canadian Country Music Awards. In 2004 he was named "Best New Solo Country Artist" at the Canadian Radio Music Awards. Stateside though, Ruttan's artist career was about to be eclipsed by his song writing success. One of those early collaborations, Dierks Bentley's debut "What Was I Thinkin'", was a #1 Billboard hit (the first #1 for both artists), and helped set Bentley on the path to country stardom. Deric returns to the Stampede after appearing last year with Dierks Bentley at the Coke stage.

Saving Abel

9:00pm - 10:45pm at Coca-Cola Stage
in the Coca-Cola Stage Zone

Jared Weeks and Jason Null formed the band in their small hometown of Corinth, Mississippi in 2004. Saving Abel gradually came together in the final electric line-up of guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor and drummer Blake Dixon, and the band paid its dues both onstage and off. After shopping their independent EP for almost a year, a copy of Addicted found its way to one-time Virgin A&R Consultant Scott Frazier and manager partner Rick Smith. The band was signed the next day. Saving Abel, the self-titled Virgin debut, features mostly brand-new tunes, plus a few favourites from the EP, including the poignant, perfectly crafted "18 Days," "Running From You" and the chart hit “Addicted.”  With a radio-ready sound combining big riffs and memorable melodies, Saving Abel has created a polished combination of Southern and Alternative rock.

Recycled Percussion

10:00pm - 12:00am at The Saddledome Plaza Stage

This explosive group emerged from an underground live-show sensation to one of the most powerful touring shows in the U.S. Performing on everything from their signature "trash" kits including plastic buckets, huge ladders, mortar casings and giant 50 gallon containers, the band will keep the audience on their feet. Spark-emitting, masterfully played power tools, a mind-blowing beatbox "vocal artillery" session backed up by chest crushing, power-driven, sweat-drenched drumming makes this show something you won't want to miss!
