Having toured across Canada and much of the United States, Seventh Rain has garnered many fans that continue to support them wherever they go. From sing along melodies to catchy guitar riffs, Seventh Rain is a band that is here to show that music was not meant to be a fad. They are determined to stand the test of time and are definitely here to stay. After earning the title "best unsigned artist" by Calgary radio station Vibe 98.5, Seventh Rain released their new album Byda in 2007.
Marianas Trench
9:00pm - 10:45pm at Coca-Cola Stage
in the Coca-Cola Stage Zone
Marianas Trench (Josh Ramsay, Matt Webb, Mike Ayley, Ian Casselman) had already elevated itself above the rest of the pack with their 2006 debut, Fix Me, that showcased a knack for colouring outside the lines of factory-issue millennial punk, shrewdly-built pop, and super-adrenalized modern rock. Two years later, Marianas Trench has re-emerged with Masterpiece Theatre. And not surprisingly, it's a work of soaring ambition and decisive technical prowess. The album includes their chart-topping hit "Cross My Heart."

Hinder
9:00pm - 10:45pm at Coca-Cola Stage
in the Coca-Cola Stage Zone
Combining raw riffs with big hooks and vocal harmonies, Hinder take their cues from rock legends like Aerosmith, AC/DC, KISS and Guns N' Roses, and update them with modern guitar sounds. Their debut album Extreme Behavior yielded the hit the crowd-pleasing "Lips Of An Angel," which gets arena audiences singing along, and they eventually sold three million copies. Now they are seeing how far they can push themselves musically and physically with the equally rowdy but more melodic Take It To The Limit, which is destined for equal if not greater triumph than its predecessor. The first, "Use Me," has already generated massive radio buzz and impressive i-Tunes sales. Overall, the album is a potent blend of raucous anthems, melodic rockers and introspective ballads that invoke the classic rock of the 70s and 80s.

The Trews
9:00pm - 10:45pm at Coca-Cola Stage
in the Coca-Cola Stage Zone
The Trews have quickly gained a reputation as Canada’s hottest live band. They have played hundreds of dates across Canada and yet still find the time to release three albums over the past five years. Their latest album is No Time For Later, which includes the chart hit “Can’t Stop Laughing.” “In the end, we made sort of a two sided record,” says Trews guitarist John Angus MacDonald, “It’s some of the heaviest stuff we’ve done, but it’s also some of the most out there artistically that we’ve ever laid down.” Too true. The Trews’ reputation is built on buffed and visceral rock songs, but on No Time for Later they cohere like never before. A stampede favourite, this is the Trews’ fifth appearance at the Calgary Stampede.

As of 2008, he holds the record for the most Number One hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts with forty-three number one singles on that chart. Strait has sold more than 73 million recordings, including 13 multi-platinum, 32 platinum and 35 gold albums. His overall certification numbers are third of all musicians, behind Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Strait attributes his success as a performer to the fact that he and his band, who are "musically very tight," have a large pool of songs to draw from, and perform those songs very similar to how they sound on the albums.

Bif Naked
9:00pm - 10:45pm at Coca-Cola Stage
in the Coca-Cola Stage Zone
Bif Naked started her musical journey as front woman of Gorilla Gorilla, a punk outfit for which her husband also drummed. It was a tumultuous situation and, although she remained with the act as they relocated to Vancouver, Bif Naked eventually quit to join another punk act, Chrome Dog. She inked a deal with Concrete Records and an eponymous, full-length release soon followed. When the label went under, Bif Naked regained the masters and, in 1996, reissued the album through her own Her Royal Majesty's Records imprint. On the strength of that record, and the ferocity of her live performances and ceaseless touring, she snagged a deal with Lava and, in 1998, I Bificus was released. The record was critically well-received and managed to get some attention with the track "Moment of Weakness," aided by a memorable, energetic video clip. Purge followed in 2001, and the first single, "I Love Myself Today," became a smash hit in Canada. The Essentially Naked retrospective appeared in 2004 before Bif Naked returned with Superbeautifulmonster in September 2005. As we enter 2009, Bif is about to release The Promise.
